I want everyone to know....

I REALLY HATE BOX ELDER BUGS!!!

Here's why:

  • They're on my kitchen walls...

  • and kitchen floor.

  • They line the doorway to my house

  • and fly in whenever I open the door.

  • Today, one decided to go down my shirt

  • and another crawled on my arm.

This is unacceptable behavior and it must be stopped!!

Childhood Dreams DO Come True!!

I remember the Bloomfest Pagent question, "What do you want to be when you grow-up and why? My quick answer was always, "I want to be a nurse because I like caring for sick people."

How about the many years I dressed up as a nurse for Halloween...Practically everyone!

Or what about my doll who had more holes in it than swiss chesse, from my many IV attempts on it's head, feet, and wrist. Oh and I can't forget how I used mom's blue eye liner to draw veins for those IV's. This same doll received IV fluids through IV bags given to me from nurses at the hospital. (Yes, I played with this doll much longer than is socially acceptable)

Well, now I no longer have to just play nurse because it's real!! I passed NCLEX-RN! This is the national licensing exam for registered nurses, and quite possibly one of the most nerve wracking tests known to mankind.

So a little bit about NCLEX...this test can range anywhere from 75-265 questions and may last 6 hours. The test starts out kind of basic and builds or drops depending on how your doing. Then when you're done the screen just goes straight blank! My screen went blank at question 75 which meant I either failed miserably or passed. Then you must wait 48 hours to pay to find out results or wait a few weeks. This dillema was a no brainer for my sanity. I spent a few dollars to relieve my anxiety to see the word PASS.

I was laughing and crying just to know everything I've worked for finally was there and my dream was now my reality!

Now for the job.......

We've bought a home!!

We decided it was time we stopped throwing money away with rent and started to put it towards something. We bought a "fixer upper" and hopefully got a good deal :)

The Front View...The house is right against the mountain and we've been told deer come right on down into the backyard! The "menagerie" of a shed...

The view of the Kitchen from the dining room.

Bedroom 1 Bedroom 2 Bedroom 3
These are the bedrooms all on the main floor. . Then in bedroom 3 notice how the floorboards are not connected to anything. From this location you can see right down into our crawlspace. They're supposed to be fixing that this week by jacking up the house and placing some new support beams! Definitely and adventure!

The bathroom. Those are plastic pink tiles. NO SHOWER. That's getting changed too!

The "pole room" notice the large pole running through this room and then another pole running across. I won't waste all your time with photos of upstairs. This space is all unfinished with tons of potential. 3 more bedrooms and a bathroom are all possible up here. The pole was from the furnace which has now been re-routed. It'll soon be gone! The rest of upstairs will have to wait.

Well that's the overview of our house! We hope to make it somewhat livable by January! It's exciting and a wonderful adventure already! We're learning so much!!

I'm ENGAGED!!

After telling the story a million plus times. I've made time to blog it!

My Sunday started out like every other Sunday morning. Matt picked me up late to head to ward council. In Ward Council Bishop mentioned Priesthood and Relief Society would be combined. Matt had already mentioned this to me earlier in the week and told me he'd teach the lesson. I kinda laughed knowing the lesson was on Temple Ordinances and Blessings of the Temple, but agreed.

So we went through the rest of the day with no clues nothing incredibly unusual. Chad, Bailey, and Gabi came under the pretense that Tyson was giving his farewell talk. I simply thought nothing of it. Then during our combined lesson. Matt had handed out scriptures for people to read and gave me Genesis 2:18. I look it up and laughed thinking he was trying to be funny by having me read it.

When it was just about my turn to read the scripture. I get a little tap on my shoulder from Bishop. He pulls me into the hall to "talk" about Relief Society stuff. I kept thinking ok why now...couldn't this wait? Then we go back in and I sit down. Matt asks me to read the scripture. I open the scriptures in front of me still oblivious mind you. The page is bookmarked with a drawing of two people getting married. The scripture highlighted and in the margin it read, "Will you marry me?" I sat staring at the page silently. With some nudging and Matt encouraging me to go on and read the scripture. I read it. Then he asked me to read the margin. I read it and he said as he was getting on one knee, "So, will you marry me?" As he slipped a little CTR ring onto my finger. I proclaimed, "YES!" He explained that my ring was being custom made and hadn't quite arrived yet. Everyone clapped and laughed. Then I closed the scriptures and noticed embossed on the cover "Cyndal Noble". I was so surpised! The perfect proposal! One you may think occured on a campus such as BYU-I, but no it happened at ISU! No better way for the Relief Society President and the Elder's Quorum President to get engaged..don't cha think?

We're getting sealed in the Logan Temple on August 14th!!
