Our Baby Boy

I thought it was about time I posted some ultrasound pictures of our little one. I've been rather hesitant because the only shots baby would give are the ones where his face is smashed up against the window and that look equals alien baby....
As for the proof he's a he well that's just private...but trust us it's a boy :)

Seattle!!

For Spring Break Matt and I decided to head up to Seattle....here are a few pictures and my droning on about our adventure!

Day 1- Matt student taught until noon then we headed to Boise. Once we got to Boise we went to Matt's Grandparent's house, Nanny and Grandpa Richard. They told us of their plans to take us to Chuck-a-Rama before we headed out. Aunt Amanda informs me not to eat too much. While eating she also discovers babies are fed through the placenta. Very educational time for Aunt Amanda. After eating we went to the airport caught our flight. Our plane was this little thing which sounded like it was about to fall apart the entire hour and 15 minutes. We got to Seattle and our hotel shuttle picked us up. On the shuttle was a couple from Iceland. The couple was pretty scared by the shuttle driver's driving as was I too! ha ha The wife asked, "Aren't their rules against going too fast?" So it's 10 at night we check in to the hotel and go to sleep....end of day 1.

Day 2- We decided to go check out the sites in the city. Our transportation included the hotel shuttle, the metro, and city bus. The hotel shuttle would take us anywhere in a 5 mile radius of the hotel. They often drove us to the metro station. We would then take the metro into the city which was about a 20 minute ride. So onto day 2. We went to Pikes Market. The strong smell of fish made me dry heave!! Unfortunately this left it so we couldn't stick around for the fish toss. This day we kinda just walked and walked and walked all around the different sites. Oh not to mention my sweet husband left his cell phone at the restaurant so we walked all the way back across town.
Strange light fixture in the stairway of Pike's Market.Restaurant where Matt left his phone :)
Day 3- This was Sunday and we had located the church and it happened to be 5.3 miles or so away from the hotel but the shuttle was still willing to take us :). We went to church and ran into a familiar face. Elder Bowles!! He grew up just down the road from me when we were kids. We chatted with him and his companion for a bit. The rest of the day we just spent relaxing in the hotel.

Day 4- The site seeing continues. We went to the Seattle Aquarium. Matt was highly amused by the seals and a fish that had this cheesy looking grin. I'm pretty sure he could have spent the entire day here if I had let him. After the Aquarium we went on a little cruise around the harbor where we spotted more seals. We also walked back to Pioneer Village where Matt found a Seattle Mariner's hat. Which I guess I didn't realize how rare this particular hat was until I came home and have spent the last few days trying to find it online for him. Needless to say he didn't get this hat. Whoops. The rest of the day we spent at the mall shopping
A few shots of Matt at the Aquarium...I promise I was there too!

One of the views from the Harbor tour.

Day 5- This day we started by going to the Museum of Flight. This was one of my favorite sites. I spent so much time reading everything in the space part that we neglected to realize how much more of the museum there actually was. So the rest of the museum got a run through. We then took the bus into town and met one of the most entertaining individuals of our trip. He called himself "Window Man". No worries he's running for president and plans to legalize Marijuana. He also told us all about the Apocalypse. I made the mistake of wearing my Idaho State University Nursing sweatshirt. This started many conversations on the bus. Once Window Man got off a lady moved up so she could talk with us. They all seem to think ISU is UOI and don't even bother trying to correct them. I heard all about how I went to a party school and probably never learned a thing about nursing. Anyway we get into the city after a very entertaining bus ride. We went to the Music Project/ Sci Fi Center. This place was a bit of a let down. We then went to the Pacific Science Center. We had a blast here and wish we had more time to spend. We watched a 3D movie. We discovered 3D+ Cyndal= Headache and Severe Nausea. No worries it resolved ha ha. Then we went to the Space Needle and spent some time at the top watching the sunset over the harbor. Then said goodbye to the City and took the metro back to our hotel.
This one's for Dad. Music/Sci Fi Center place...the only thing cool about this one was the building...

Day 6-
At the airport in Seattle we met up with Carl, our Brother-in-law and visited for a bit gave him some tips on the city. We flew back to Boise. Nanny and Grandpa Richard picked us up at the airport and of course took us to eat. We visited with them about our trip. Then we went to Babies R' Us and made our first baby purchase a stroller and carseat!! Then made our way back home...

3) Justin (Matt's cousin Heather', her husband) is in the other room talking on the phone. Did I mention they've been living here since August 1?

I want everyone to know....

I REALLY HATE BOX ELDER BUGS!!!

Here's why:

  • They're on my kitchen walls...

  • and kitchen floor.

  • They line the doorway to my house

  • and fly in whenever I open the door.

  • Today, one decided to go down my shirt

  • and another crawled on my arm.

This is unacceptable behavior and it must be stopped!!
