A Description

This is how my friend Nelson, from Japan, described me to his mother...
Theres a girl in church her name is Cyndal Golightly and she came from Preston Idaho, shes best friends with napolean dynamite, and she races beds for fun
and shes AWESOMELY AMAZING!!!!
Not really sure as to why he felt the need to describe me to his mother. Nonetheless, I found it amusing and thought I'd share!
Thanks Nelson from Japan!

Awkward Moments of My Life...well for Today

Story Number 1
This afternoon my secretary,Lauren, and I decided to go visit some sisters in our ward. We knock on the door and hear a voice, not from above. It's a man . He says, "Who's there?" We don't answer under the impression he's talking to someone in the room. Then again we hear the voice a second time, but this time louder and most definately closer saying, "Who's there?" This time we answer, "Cyndal and Lauren." The door opens just a crack. In that crack you see a man kinda using the door as a shield. We ask to see if the person we were coming to visit was home. He told us she wasn't and then he throws in there that he's not really clothed either. Thus, the door being a shield. We simply turn our heads and hand him the gift and treat we came to give. As we walked away in sheer embarassment and laughter.

Story Number 2
My visiting teaching companion was out of town so I just asked Lauren, since she was already with me if she'd like to go. Clearly, she agreed or else that sentence would have been completely irrelevant. We knock on Hannah's door as I'm knocking, the door comes open. Nobody's answering so I kinda just kick the door a little and say, "Hello, anyone home?" Dead silence. Lauren and I are standing at the door discussing what to do. Mind you the door is STILL open! I say to Lauren, "Would you consider it creepy if I just went in a put this on her bed?" After some deliberation Lauren convinces me it's not creepy. I walk in and go to put it on the bed when suddenly I realize Hannah is sound asleep on the bed under a blanket. I loudly say "OH!" and run out laughing down the hall. Lauren stays standing at the door laughing. I motion through my laughter and crossing my legs in attempts not to pee my pants for Lauren to shut the door. Finally, she shuts it and we carry on laughing uncontrollably!

Story Number 3
After this all happens. I go to a Christmas fireside at the Institute. Sitting there I had severe attention issues. I suddenly realize the bottom of my high heel shoe is turned a little funny. I had no problem simply taking off my shoe in attempts to fix it right then and there. By this time everyone around, minus the people in front, are involved in "Operation Fix Cyndal's Shoe". The shoe isn't turning. To get a little more leverage I stick it between my legs and attempt to twist. Just as I stick the shoe between my legs the people in front of us turn around and see the action. The look on the face was one of conservative horror and a smirk of disgust. Finally, Nelson, from Japan, takes the shoe from me and after small struggles; it's all fixed and my shoe lived happily ever after on my foot!

This is why I live by the statement, "Embrace the Awkardness!"

Due to Popular Demand

So many requests for the story of the bruise....here it goes! Tyler invited me to go mountain biking with him. Pretty much because he didn't think I could handle it. Boy did i disprove that myth. He swore that by the end of the bike ride I'd hate him...since we got done with the bike ride and I still didn't hate him in fact it made me adore him oh so much more. He became extremely upset and got violent. One of those things I probably should have reported to the police, but I just took the photos for blackmail. He picked up this gigantic rock and threw it right at my thigh, and then it hit the ground and bounced back up and hit my calf. Then Tyler pushed me and I ended up with scratches all over my arms. All of this just because I was in better shape...what a silly boy!

Ok so that's all a lie....except for the mountain biking with Tyler and him thinking I couldn't handle it. One Saturday morning about a month ago we went up Scout Mountain just south of Pocatello and rode to a little pond. The first part of the ride is almost all completely uphill. One of the first little downhills we got to, somehow my back tire slid out from under me and I went right on over the bike handles and somehow the bike landed on me or something. Tyler super concerned asks me if I'm ok....with my bruised ego, I proclaim repeatedly, "I'm fine! I'm fine!" I get up and wipe the dust off and start to get on the bike when Tyler notices something's just not right with the bike umm...maybe it was the fact the handle bars and the tire were facing the same direction. He fixed the bike and we went on our merry way. Me being much more cautious as we attempt any hill. Then for some odd reason going up a hill, I simply just tipped over into the bush. ha ha man what a great ride. The bruises were from the first incident. That my friends is how I ended up with the lovely bruise on my upper thigh...which still to this day you can see the outline of. I stand in amazement at the bodies ability to convert Biliverdin to billirubin. Any other questions or details desired may be refered to the comment box and will be addressed appropriately. THE END!!

Heavy Load

Have you ever felt so weighed down by stuff?!? I can't imagine carrying around such a load like this. I even carried it up two flights of stairs. This was everything I brought back to Pocatello from a ONE night stay in Preston. Given I had to work on a care plan and half the stuff was for that, but I can't believe the load some people out there are carrying. Heavy loads of sin, feeling alone, depressed, loss of a loved one or abilities, and flat out given up hope. I was so grateful when my neighbor offered to help me carry it, but being the stubborn one I am, I refused the help of others thinking I could do it on my own. It would have be easier if I had been excepting and we could have shared in the load. ~Pretty much we're all in this together~ Isn't that "High School Musical" or something?!?

My Super Amazing Family

Recently, I've felt I've been neglecting my wonderful family! It so easy to get involved with our everyday activities and lose focus of those things which are so important to us, and for me that's my FAMILY!! Let me tell you about my family. We grew up in a modest home on a little corner in Fairview, ID. The road in front of our house is the Utah/Idaho border.
This is the place where so many of my life experience took place who made me who I am today.

Now for the people who helped me become who I am.
Mom and Dad

Mom has always be a great example of diligence, and doing what's right despite what others may think. She may not have had the perfect past; despite this she has a desire to give me that perfect past. She's given me skills I hope to carry on and bless my future family with.
Dad is an incredibly great example of humility. He works so very hard to provide for our needs and wants. He always puts others first. He's my standard of how a worthy Priesthood holder should act and treat others. He's blessed our family so many times through his worthy use of Priesthood in our home.

Crystal, Matt, and India
Crystal my oldest sister. The one who I've looked up to most my life. She's my ultimate example of perseverance through the most difficult times of life. She has always been able to "Endure to the End." Even when it feels the end will never come. Through trials which have been thrown her way she's taught me how to truly care and give compassion to others.
Matt has taught me how to grow up. He shows me the way to deal with others. He demonstrates the importance of depending upon the Lord in our lives and never giving up. He is a great example of being a father.
India my little ball of fire bursting forth with energy and cheerfulness. She's taught me how to hope. She's allowed me opportunities to serve. She can put a smile on my face on the worst of days!
CeJay, Brooke, and Brecklyn

CeJay my big brother and protector. He is always the first to give his honest opinion. He is so very open and kind to many. He presides over his home with love. He teaches me how to work and have fun.
Brooke is my counselor. Whenever I have a problem or need to vent, she's willing to listen. She's shown me how to support your spouse. She demonstrates the priorities of life. She's taught me to accept who I am.
Brecklyn is the mellow easy going one. She takes life and rolls with it. She's the child I hope for. She has taught me meekness. She is my joy!

Cassidy
Cassidy my little bro and missionary! He brings me great pride in the decision he's made to take the knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father to the people of Louisiana. He has shown me how by small and simple means great things can and will be brought to about. He's taught me to be a better person and to love others. He's grown so much and has helped me do the same!

How thankful I am for parents who've lived temple worthy lives and have blessed our family through many small decisions which have led to a much greater one. It amazes me to see how far reaching the small decisions we make can have such a lasting impact. Each individual has something to offer! How are the decisions you're making today going to effect you in the end? I am who I am because of who they are!
THANKS GUYS!!!
